600V battery segment prototype PCB
In the Vermilion Racing team a big high power battery will be build for powering the battery. The big battery is split into 12 segments all with a maximum voltage of 60 VDC to be classified as low voltage for being able to work on without the need for special PPE.
The battery is drawn up in Fusion and Eagle for 3D and circuit design.
Even though the segment is below 60VDC the battery\’s are still made from the Li-PO chemistry, which is rather dangerous so special care needs to be taken for not short circuiting the battery\’s.
We therefore milled a PCB prototype as we were going to rivet the busbar to the PCB and there was doubt if the PCB had the mechanical strength to hold the busbar down.
