The hitchhiking coin

As part of the adventure of crossing Europe, from Denmark to Lisbon in south Portugal, only by hitchhiking and couch surfing. I though it would be nice to give a little gift to the people who help me. It had to be light and easy to give. I settled on a \”thank you coin\”.

The coin was laser cut in aluminium, then rolled in sand for 24 hours, roughing off the edges and giving dark mat finish. Afterwards the coin was spray painted white and then laser engraved. The laser removes the white paint and thereby exposing the mat gray.
